Description of the Position:

Mix and serve alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages to guests of the bar, following standard recipes.

Primary Duties, Responsibilities and Tasks:

• Mix ingredients, such as liquor, soda, water, sugar, and bitters, to prepare alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages.
• Operate all bar equipment including computerized cash register and credit card machine.
• Ensure friendly and efficient guest service ensuring Gold Standards.
• Serve alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages and food items for guests either directly, or by way of a Server.
• Direct assignment of shift Barbacks.
• Use proper cash handling procedures for items served.
• Make change and issues receipts to guest
• Order or requisitions liquors and supplies.
• Maintain L.E.A.D. parameters on service of alcoholic beverages, identifying guests showing signs of intoxication.
• Record amount received and prepares reports of transaction.
• Maintain composure at times of high volume.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications:

• High School Diploma or GED Certificate preferred.
• 6 months of experience as a Bartender or 1 year as Barback.
• Must be proficient in the English language.
• Must be flexible with work hours including nights, weekends, and holidays.
• Excellent interpersonal skills with professionalism and courtesy.
• Excellent organizational and communication skills.
• Extensive beverage knowledge.
• Ability to acquire L.E.A.D. Certification.
• Basic knowledge of the Infogenesis system.
• Must follow safety policies and grooming standards.
• Must apply for, receive, and maintain a Gaming License from the Tribal Gaming Agency.

Canary Hotel, a Leading Hotel of the World, located steps away from State Street is looking for a Pool Bartender.

Position Description:

Serve guest in a courteous and efficient manner with a smile. Must be able to carry tray, move portable bars, tables/equipment, perform all duties including side work, utilize menu knowledge, have knowledge of Santa Barbara activities, know or learn room service server responsibilities, work alone, carry out proper steps of service and make quality cocktails with full bartender knowledge including wine knowledge. Must be reliable, quick, a team player, possess etiquette and poise, be hones, well-groomed and work well under pressure while using good judgment, cash handling is required.

This is a seasonal bartender position mainly for the rooftop pool area and occasionally other F & B areas. House for the pool will mostly be from 9:30 a.m. - 6:00 p.m. for two to five days a week. Hours and days may vary. Must work all holidays and must be available beginning mid-May through the beginning of November. Full availability for peak season is required - Wednesdays through Sundays.

Hotel/hospitality experience is preferred.
